Thanks to Kristin,Roger, Sandra and Charlie at Greenleaf Nursery www.greenleafnursery.com near Tahlequah for the donation of over 1000 containers. They will be used for tomato plants that the students are currently growing in milk cartons.
The picture above shows Dr. Ed Osborn and Bob Seebeck working together with about 25% of the buckets that will be used in the container garden project. The project will give each student in Okmulgee Public Schools and Stonebridge Academy tomato seeds that they will start in a milk carton and at the end of the school year volunteers will have a 5 gallon container filled with soil that the students will transplant their tomato plant to. The idea is that kids will be more likely to eat vegetables that they grow themself.
